Tahmina Akter - An aspiring doctor one day!
01 January 2013 (Age: 11)
When we asked Tahmina one day, what her prayer to Almighty God is, she was quiet for a moment and then expressed her deepest desire to meet her mother one day.
It was heartbreaking to look into her eyes; words are certainly not enough to describe her feeling at that moment of truth.
However, seven-year-old Tahmina is an ever-smiling, cheerful girl full of life. We never saw her without a smile on her face despite her sad story of the past.
A young man found little Tahmina nearby a small shop sitting alone. When he discovered that her grandmother left her here intentionally, he immediately acted upon it and found her a safe shelter with police help. She was five years old when we found Tahmina from another shelter home. We immediately provided her with an environment and comfort to make her feel part of a safe and loving family. Tahmina is an enthusiastic, curious, happy girl who loves to sing and dance. She is sharp and a quick learner. She is excited about her future and has begun to dream of being a doctor one day and moving forward in life. Chocolate and milk are her favourites.
We are excited to be part of Tahmina's turnaround story!
