Umbrelă children can be sponsored for BD Tk. 5,000 per month.

Yes, you can sponsor for education only for Tk. 2000 per month. We may charge extra money for text-books, school uniforms & bags etc. annually.

We have an Education Sponsor Program which includes resident and non-resident children. Resident children are abandoned or lost children. Non-resident children may have one parent or both. We support these parents to educate their children and encourage them to raise their children in a family environment.

Your sponsorship provides the life essentials to a child with three meals and also snacks with milk a day. Your child will have access to quality education and be provided with necessary school supplies. Additional yearly charges may apply for two school uniforms, text books etc. Nutritious food, personal hygiene items, medical treatments and healthcare, vaccines etc. will also be provided to the child.

As a child sponsor, you’re connected with one specific child. You can sponsor more if you want. But sponsored children do not receive direct cash benefits. Your monthly donation is pooled for maximum effectiveness. You join forces with other sponsors to fund long-term benefit of your child as well as other Umbrelă children in need.

Absolutely! Sponsors are encouraged to send cards and/or personal letters to their child. But individual gifts are not encouraged since not all the children are sponsored and one or a few receiving a special gift would cause needless confusion or hurt other children. However, we welcome general donations such as toys, games, sports equipment, classroom equipment, dormitory needs, etc. They are presented to all the children in honor of your child.

Yes, you are the only Sponsor of your child. That is why it is vitally important that you stay regular with your commitment. Your money makes all the difference in your child’s life.

You have the opportunity to continue sponsoring your child through grade school, high school and even through college if you are willing and able. Depending on the high school course or college course your child chooses, the cost of their schooling raises the sponsorship amount.

We understand that sometimes circumstances force Child Sponsors to reassess their commitment. We ask that you contact us immediately and, if possible, give us a 2-3month notice so we can find another sponsor.

When this happens, we will inform the Child Sponsor immediately and ask that you consider extending your compassion to another child.

Umbrelă Child Sponsorship Program is designed to meet the needs of children to enable them to complete their primary and secondary education. Depending on the number of children waiting for sponsorship and their educational requirement, the range of age of children may be from 3 to 4 years to 8 to 12 years.

You could choose to pay the full year’s cost of sponsorship at one time which is BD Tk.60,000. If you would like to arrange a different payment cycle such as quarterly or twice per year, this can also be arranged.

We prefer payments through account payee cheques or bank transfer, debit/credit card, bkash (Please go to our website www.umbrelafoundation.org if you want to donate online). However, we also accept cash (against proper money receipt to be provided by us).

Once a child finishes the Umbrelă Child Sponsorship Program, you will receive notification along with a profile and photo of a new child to sponsor. If you do not want any transition to a new child or would like to support another Umbrelă Project, you should let us know.
