Ayesha Siddiqui - Ayesha finally has a place she can call home!
25 November 2008 (Age: 15)
Ayesha was in class two when her mother had left her at a house in her village. She would help the owner with her household chores there. After that, her mother got married again and settled in with her new family, leaving no space for Ayesha.
When the news of Ayesha reached her grandmother, she took Ayesha in and enrolled her at a local madrasah. After some time, however, her senile grandmother could not look after Ayesha and continue her education.
So, her father took her in. However, her father, who lived in the city, started his new life after her mother had left. He found it challenging to raise Ayesha and felt that he could not give her support and care. So, he sent Ayesha sent to another home.
But he remained worried and began looking for a better option for Ayesha. Finally, his employer stepped in to help her father find a place where she could be fed, clothed, provided education, and safe.
When he found out about Umbrelă, he brought her here immediately.
Now Ayesha has begun a new life at Umbrelă. She has been with us for a couple of years, feels safe here, and has access to food, clean water, and education. She is in class 4 now. Through counselling, we could get rid of the unpleasant memories that would bother her at times. Now she is stable and calm in her life.
Finally, she found a place she can call home. She is happy!
We have more children like Ayesha who have faced similar or worse situations. We are on a mission to change their lives for a safer, brighter future.
