Rodela (Morzina) - Rodela: A Heart Full of Care

28 August 2017

Rodela—originally named Morzina—is now 8 years old and studying in Class Two at Umbrelă Academy. She came to us five years ago with her younger brother, Sharif, after their father passed away suddenly—found lifeless at home.

Her parents had married for love, against their families’ wishes. After her father’s death, her mother tried seeking support from both sides of the family, but no one was willing to take them in. With no one left to turn to, she contacted the Umbrelă Foundation, and both children found a new home here.

Before starting school, Rodela spent a year adjusting under the care of our dedicated staff—learning to trust, play, and grow. She later joined playgroup, and now continues her studies in Class Two.

Interestingly, it was another child at Umbrelă—Anika—who gave her the name “Rodela.” That was the name of Anika’s beloved younger sister. Since then, everyone here lovingly calls her Rodela.

Rodela appears sweet and shy to outsiders. But within the home, her behavior often shows the emotional scars she carries. She sometimes reacts with disobedience, speaks roughly, or behaves unkindly toward caregivers and other children. The founder, house mothers, and residence teachers regularly counsel children like Rodela—working patiently to guide them in manners, discipline, and personal care.

She often shows improvement and is sometimes allowed to go home on short holidays. But after returning, she tends to fall back into earlier patterns. Still, with gentle consistency, the Umbrelă team helps her find her balance again.

Rodela’s journey is one of gentle transformation—with the care of a loving team and the light of a second chance. And with your support, she continues to grow—step by step, day by day.
