Raqeeb & Russell - A safe haven for the two brothers

25 January 2022 (Age: 2)

Raqeeb and Russell are brothers and have a very close bonding. Being a big brother, Raqeeb is extra caring about Russell. He never leaves him alone. It took a while for them to adapt here. They were missing their home at Nangolcoat, Cumilla. But, with time, they became friendly with everyone at Umbrelā. Now they are happy to be here.

Raqeeb says, “My father takes drugs and then abuses my mother. She brought me to Umbrelă foundation as she was struggling to make ends meet."

He also says, “We have learned here how to behave well, we can play at the playground, we can play with toys, we have a better life here. I want to be a ship captain when I grow up.”

Raqeeb is intelligent and enthusiastic and doing better in his school. He likes playing badminton and football. His dream is to join Bangladesh Navy and serve the nation.

Unlike Raqeeb, Russell is also intelligent.

He came to Umbrelă home malnourished, shy, and very serious for his age. However, he is calm and quiet. He is an attentive child and has a desire to learn.

Russell began to thrive immediately at Umbrelă. He learned quickly, so he enrolled in Class Two in 2021, now he does better in school. He wants to be a scholar one day and spread knowledge among people.
