Asifa Akbar Tasfiya - She is happy and all set
21 March 2012 (Age: 12)
Tashfia’s father died when she was three years old. Since then, she would live with her mother, sister and grandmother in Patya, Chattogram. They were very vulnerable as they had no means of support and lived in a small village hut. Later three of them moved to her uncle’s place. It was also challenging for her uncle to bear their expenses. So her mother and uncle brought her to Umbrela. In a short period, Tashfia got along with Umbrela kids, home tutors and staff. Her health also got improved.
Tashfia is in class 4 now. She is a good, responsible, caring kid who continues to grow and improve herself. In the beginning, she was struggling with Maths and English. Thanks to our home tutor, Nur, who helped her with these. She wants to be a teacher one day. She loves mangoes and likes to draw houses.
“I left home and came here,” she says. “They took me in and helped me go back to school. This is where I finally found a real family and a good home.”
Thank you for giving Tashfia and other children like her home. Thank you for giving them a chance.
