Lamima - The Affectionate Daydreamer

14 April 2008 (Age: 16)

Six-year old Lamima was left stranded by her parents at an early age and, being a beautiful mind, still misses them dearly. She remembers her parents’ names – Mr. Babul and Mrs. Begum; and more often than not – cutely mispronounces her name as ‘Lamia’.

She had been abandoned by her parents at a local eatery after she was bought breakfast. Lamima, eating her breakfast then hungrily, was not aware of the drastic turn that her life was taking at that moment. Lost and scared, Lamima was taken into custody by local authorites and who then sent her to a shelter home. Afterwards, she was brought to Umbrela.

Lamima is naughty yet energetic in the class – fully displaying her playful, child-like nature.  Not wanting to study, Lamima often takes joy at distracting her classmates with kittenish mischief, and daydreaming. And in spite of her not wanting to study, Lamima dreams of one day becoming a school teacher so that she too can dispense knowledge like her own class’ teacher. Aside from this, it is to be noted that Lamima had never seen the inside of a school before she had become part of our Umbrela Family. This was all new to her. Yet she bonded with our Umbrela Family speedily and took to cuddling and hugging our Umbrela’s members with whom she felt close and comfortable with; through her interactions, many Umbrela members and teachers felt as though Lamima had not been given the love and attention that she needed as a young child – or that she was indeed in a good home, that unfortunately felt it was better to desert her; both possibilities are equally heartbreaking. As such, we try our best to provide her with counselling sessions, along with extra affection and care.

Lamima greatly enjoys chocolates, playing with dolls and watching fun and educational videos on YouTube. As such, it can be derived that in order to catch her wonderful mind’s attention, one will have to get creative and illustrious.

Lamima has been part of our family since December of 2019, and she continues to play and show us all how we should be in life – carefree and jolly! It is a joy to be around her. And she’d be happier with you as part of our family.

So, would you like to make her happier with us?
